The challenge
The DCSF commissioned the EdComs Market Intelligence team to conduct an extensive piece of desk research on current Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) provision. A recommendation from the report was the need to better highlight and bring to life the benefits of good CEIAG.
As a follow-up, our Consultancy team was commissioned to identify evidence of good CEIAG practice.
Our approach
During April 2009 we carried out a two-stage process.
- Stage one comprised interviews with key education stakeholders.
- These stakeholders recommended examples of good CEIAG provision which were used to identify good-practice case studies in Stage two.
- Stage two comprised seven case studies of good CEIAG practice.
Outcomes
EdComs produced:
- a report identifying what success looks like and what key messages should be developed to promote good CEIAG
- a set of expert case studies and quotes, all intended to be used as collateral for the CEIAG campaign.
