Our Digital team is integrated across the business, advising on best practice when devising new multimedia materials to support our programmes, whether on or offline. We have a great deal of experience in designing and delivering projects for education – from activities designed to be used on interactive whiteboards in the classroom, through to larger web based applications with social and collaborative tools.
Our role in EdComs
The Digital team is responsible for the production of many EdComs projects – working with the Programme Development team to develop websites, activities and games for education and beyond.
The skills we use every day to produce award-winning educational resources are now also being applied in other sectors.
Core skills/background
The Digital team boasts a wide range of skills, from information architecture through to web application via design and illustration.
Many of our projects are educational programmes aimed at young people aged from three years to adult, and therefore need to be engaging and highly usable. We have a strong track record in developing interactive games and activities, as shown in our case studies, and we are increasingly developing content-managed websites with more social media elements to assist in collaborative learning.
In addition to these online skills we support client programmes with offline resources and promotional materials to create maximum impact.
How we work
Many EdComs projects have a digital resource at their heart and the Digital team, working closely with other teams within EdComs, ensure that these resources are successful.
We are involved from the initial phases of a project, taking client briefs and developing concepts and wireframes. By adopting a rapid prototyping methodology we are able to bring a project to life and test it quickly, ensuring that it meets the needs of our clients and their users. We develop in a number of environments, either with bespoke application development or by suggesting management systems if appropriate.
