EdComs Market Intelligence is home to a team of researchers specialising in secondary analysis techniques used to support strategic decision-making. We work closely with colleagues in the EdComs Research team to construct and execute excellent field research.
Our role in EdComs
We work with a broad range of clients and colleagues to inform clients' policy development, shape communications planning, and identify market opportunities.
We work with:
- government departments and agencies, to use existing evidence to inform the development of communications campaigns with young people and education policy
- commercial and third-sector clients, to understand communications and identify market opportunities.
Our detailed knowledge of education policy across the UK means that we keep clients and colleagues up to date with this ever-evolving world.
Core skills/background
The core team offers a diverse set of secondary skills.
James MacGregor, Head of Market Intelligence, has a background in policy analysis and strategic communications. He is experienced at working closely with public sector clients and in working with complex datasets to produce concise, contextualised recommendations.
Alessandro Valera has a background in complex market research techniques, having worked with a number of large commercial clients to identify market opportunities and analyse past communications activities.
Louise Caffrey has a background in analytical methodologies, having taught secondary research methods at University College Dublin and delivered a number of publically-funded research projects in the Republic of Ireland.
This core team works closely with primary research specialists to take advantage of their expertise in secondary techniques, such as meta-analysis, secondary data analysis, and literature review.
How we work
We work closely with our clients to tailor our approaches and findings to the needs of the end-user, while maintaining our methodological rigour and professional objectivity. We work rapidly to generate the findings and insights our clients seek and root them within their context, by consulting their colleagues and key stakeholders. We also continually work with colleagues to strengthen and broaden our professional skills by running a programme of internal working groups to debate and develop new creative approaches.
